My final 'A' Level project
I believe this is my most challenging title so far and therefore have thought long and hard about how I should tackle it. To begin with I have just created a few photographs of books, playing around with the leaves and making shapes. All these photographs are digital on my fujifilm.
I know the two photographs above are basically the same, but I can't quite work out which I like best. I believe the second one is a better composition but other opinions are always wanted.
I Then went to Cecil Court to photograph the old Victorian bookstores. I used my Canon EOS 300 camera and a black and white film, however to create a antique look I sepia toned all my prints.
Back to digital format i Photographed a series of pictures of "Floating Pages". I researched a few famous quotes from different Literature and wrote them on ripped ot book pages. Then attaching the pages I hung them from the ceiling in a bathroom and by some stairs. Some of the photographs are just of the "Floating" Pages others of girl standing amongst them, as if she is in a dream.
I then moved on to the portrayal of Literature and it's different forms. Looking at the street artist Banksy I realised that Graffiti is a way of expressing oneself, and is another form of Literature. I photographed an extremely graffiti covered skate park in Southbank. I really wanted to capture the colours as they are so vibrant and make the words stand out.
